Subsidies for Farmers

The government is providing subsidy to farmers for following interventions being promoted by On-Farm Water Management wing of Agriculture Department.

 

Installation of High Efficiency (Drip/Sprinkler) Irrigation System (HEIS)

It is planned to demonstrate high efficiency irrigation systems in the project area for the promotion of high value crops, including orchards, vegetables, and other cash crops, based on sitespecific requirements. Keeping in view the socio-economic and financial capacity of the farming community, the following sliding scale cost sharing formula will be implemented.

 7.6 to 12.5 acres 60% 40%

     For example, if a farmer wants to install the system on 12.5 acres, he will get 75% subsidy upto 7.5 acres, while the subsidy on remaining 5 acres (7.6 to 12.5 acres) will be 60%.

  • Back earth filling of structures and lined section

  • Masons and unskilled labour for all civil works

Irrigation schemes are watercourses of tubewells or other water sources in non-canal commanded areas.

It is planned to provide the solar sytem to operate the high efficiency irrigation systems in the project area based on sitespecific requirements. Keeping in view the socio-economic and financial capacity of the farming community, the following sliding scale cost sharing formula will be implemented.

  Government provides maximum upto Rs. 720,000, if the cost of solar powered pumping system at pond site is more than Rs. 1.2 million while the government will provide 60 percent of the cost when the total cost is less than Rs. 1.2 million.
